This donation page has been created in loving memory of John Dexter Rabot, to honour his life and the values he held dear. All funds raised will be distributed between two charities that were especially close to John’s heart. At the family’s request, we wish to make the donations in John’s name, so will not be disclosing the charities at this time, but will be updating you. Please know that your contributions will go toward causes that truly reflect John’s compassion and commitment to helping others. John Dexter Rabot was a devoted husband and family man. He was eager to make a difference, support everyone around him and continually lived with pride, honesty and kindness. If you were lucky enough to have known John, you would have been welcomed into his family without condition. After coming to the Uk from Sri Lanka as a toddler, the only thing he knew was hard work and determination. John had a passion for life and shared this through his love off his family, friends and Aston Villa. John was taken far too soon after a tremendously hard 2 year battle with bowel cancer which was only identified at stage 4. Undergoing chemotherapy followed by an invasive HIPEC surgery which he unfortunately was never able to recover from before a recurrence of the disease. This was regrettably untreatable which led to the withdrawal of all medical intervention. It is with deepest sorrows we said goodbye to him in the afternoon of the 4th October 2025. John left us too soon but left us with eternal love for which we are forever grateful.

The first of Johns chosen charities is to help under privileged children in Sri Lanka ( his homeland). Over the many years of John’s life he continuously visited and introduced his family to the charity who not only supported John’s work there but enjoyed their visits with the children. John donated funds, toys, clothing, food and his time.

For his second charity, he wishes to support a local organisation who provides guidance in transforming young people’s lives through the power of football.

Those that were close to him can testament to his love, passion and devotion to the game.
