John Demmer III Hit and run fund

Hello,

My son John was struck by a hit and run driver while he was riding his motorcycle on December 9th 2023. The driver knew that they struck and ran over John and his bike but decided to take off. To this day the suspect driver has not been caught or identified.

John has medical insurance of his own that will cover most of his medical costs but not all of them. He has had 2 surgeries all ready in the ICU unit of University hospital and he will most likely need one or two more. He was in University hospitals ICU unit floor for about 10 days and since then he has been at Kessler Rehab center in West orange and will have to remain there for a while longer.

Johns pelvis was shattered and his right femur badly broken. This has lead to a long slow process of recovery where he will have to learn how to walk again and move around on his own. He has been a real trooper through all of this and his spirits remain high even though all the pain.

While his medical bills are mostly covered there are so many other things that are not. He will need special equipment purchased for in and out of the rehab center, possible transportation costs and of course he has bills and a mortgage to pay which just cant be done with disability pay which has still not kicked in as of this post.

We are a proud family and don't like to ask for help but John needs to spend his time focusing on his recovery and not have to worry about paying bills. We are doing what we can for him but its just not in our ability to be able to carry this load too much longer.

We are not looking for huge donations from people, especially since the economy is so bad but if you are so inclined to make even the smallest donation it would be so appreciated by our family. Johns story has been viewed by tens of thousands of people according to the counters and if even a portion of those people were able to donate a small amount our goal, which I kept low can be reached.

If you are not able to donate financially we completely understand and there is still a way you can help by praying for Johns complete recovery and by sharing this post so that others who may not even know John may donate. Im sure there are other bikers, hit and run victims or just people with big hearts that may want to help.
