How do you sum up in words a man's life? Especially a father, who's love carried you and shaped who you are. I can't explain everything he meant to me, but here is a brief picture of what he was like.
John Dawson Cummings Jr. was a great story teller, a big dreamer, a jokester, and a generous man. He was a passionate business man, and brought excitement to any business venture or project he was involved in. Standing at 6'4", always in a good suit, he was a presence in any room he walked in. He loved to laugh, and his laugh was infectious. He was usually laughing at some crazy story he recounted from his time in college or growing up as the oldest sibling of four mischievous kids.

My Dad was a rich man, not in the sense of having money, because at times he had none. He was rich in love, friends, and family. He strived to give the very best for the people he loved. His home was always open to others in need, never asking for anything in return.
Most importantly, he was a man of faith and raised his three children to seek the Lord in all they do. We find comfort in knowing that he is in heaven with the Lord now.

Last Saturday, John passed peacefully in his sleep due to heart failure. Having not made arrangements, things are being left to the children he left behind. He will be cremated and a celebration of life gathering will take place at the house he shared with two of his children and fiancé. We are asking for donations to help with some of the end of life expenses. Any support is greatly appreciated by the family during this devastating time.
