John David Pierce, age 55, died June 30th after a heart attack. He is survived by a wife, Gabriele Ressek-Pierce, and two children: his step-son Renee Ressek and son Zachery Taylor.

David is a veteran of the Iraq War and served in the Army for the country he loved for 21 years, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. Dave also was a staunch supporter of the VFW, serving as the Junior Vice Commander for the Saint Cloud VFW Post 3227. He was very passionate about ending veteran suicide and supported the Til Valhalla Project. Before his military service, Dave attended Auburn University and was a lifelong supporter. Following his service, he was the Security Manager for Loews Hotels in Orlando. Dave was a man of few words and deeply loved his co-workers and family.

New Horizon Funeral Home will host services from 5-8 pm this Saturday (7/9). On Sunday (7/10), Dave’s family will inter him at Mt. Peace cemetery at 11 am with military honors, with a celebration of life following at the VFW in St. Cloud, FL.

Funds will help defray funeral expenses, and a donation will be made in his name to the Saint Cloud VFW Post 3227.

Please share a picture and a story if you have one, he was loved by many, and the world is less fun without him.
