John Daniel Stevens, 58, was shot and killed during a robbery attempt at the Exxon station at Charlotte Pike and Davidson Drive on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  He was a gentle man, a Navy veteran (1980-1984) who served on the USS Dwight D Eisenhower. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Peggy Ann Stevens.
