John Cravens Back in the Saddle Campaign

John Cravens has dedicated over 20 years of his life to supporting teens and helping them know the love of Jesus. Whether it's having fun with the youth on retreats, or Marathon Mystery Nights (where he's up for well over 24 hours participating in activities. all over DFW), teaching Confirmation or Sunday School, preaching and sharing with the youth community at Custer Road UMC, or attending countless mission trips (where he serves various communities throughout the United States), John can always be found putting the youth first to help them grow and succeed in their lives.

As some of you may know, on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, John was involved in a terrible crash. While riding his bike, which he often does to clear his mind and exercise, he was struck by a large truck out of nowhere. Even though he was wearing a helmet, which most likely saved his life, he still sustained a gaping wound on the back of his head, broken ribs, a concussion, various bruises and contusions throughout his body, and a bruised lung. After being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, John received seven staples into his skull and various other treatments.  We are beyond grateful that John survived this incident despite the pain and trauma this accident has caused him.  When John was struck by the truck, it destroyed his bike and turned it into a crumpled pile of metal.

Since John is so loved and has given so much to so many throughout his years in youth ministry, people have reached out to ask how they can help John through this terrible experience. To help get John back on his bike and doing something he loves, we're asking everyone to pitch in a little (no gift is too small) to help John purchase a new bike and a new helmet, and safety gear to get him back doing one of the activities he loves. All donations will go to John's bike, his safety gear, and anything else he might need help with.
