John Cooper Memorial Park Bench in Golden
Donation protected

We all lost our dear friend John Cooper on Dec. 18, he’ll always be in our hearts. We would like to honor his memory by placing a park bench along the Golden bike path. John was raised in Indian Hills and graduated from Golden High School, and loved to proudly ride his bicycle in and around Golden. He also was an avid skier and hiked in the spring, summer and fall. In fact, John skied on the old-fashioned long skinny skis until last winter when he finally got into the 21st century and bought some wider skis. He could still out ski everyone on those old-fashioned skis!
There is so much to tell about John that I could write a book. He was so many people's best friend! He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He had such a kind heart and always looked for the good in people.
We only need $1,000 to purchase a bench through the Golden Parks and Rec Dept. All donors will be notified where it is located once it's placed. Thank you in advance for anything you can donate. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me through this page, one of John's numerous best friends.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: We received such a good response, we will now buy a larger bench for $1200 and plant a tree next to it for $300. The bench will have a plaque with his name on it but the tree won't be marked. However, the new tree next to the bench will be dedicated to John and his name will be noted in the Golden Community Center. Thanks to everyone for your kind and generous donations!
ANOTHER ADDITIONAL NOTE: We now will be planting two trees near the bench. I will keep everyone updated. Thanks again to everyone! It's obvious how many people truly loved John!
