Our father John Marcus Chavez passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2021. He was an amazing family man that helped everyone he could. Growing up we often had a full house of family living with us. Whenever they needed a place to stay or to get on their feet they knew the door was open. At one point my father slept on a bed in the living room and offered the rooms to his sisters and daughters. He loved having his home filled with his family. He was decorated veteran that served this country in the Navy during Vietnam. Generous with his time, love and acts of service to family, friends, neighbors and strangers. He would often offer food to those in need and he even helped a stranger with a flat tire in his 70s. If you knew Johnny or Uncle John, you know you could always find him welcome you with a warm smile and joke.
He leaves behind two daughters, four grandsons, nieces/nephews, his siblings and friends that he considers family. COVID took our father too soon and many people have asked how they can help honor my dad. Please consider donating to help us with his medical bills, probate and grandkids legacy. We aren’t sure what will come but any amount would help us in this time of uncertainty.
I’m sure he is looking down on us and is touched to see how many people he has left a positive impact on. We all know that John was cheeky and loved banter, and we would love to read and funny stories about my dad to brighten this sad time.
With love and gratitude, the Chavez family. ❤️
