Hi, my name is Jason Cassidy and I am the son of John Cassidy. As many people know, my dad was a hard worker that loved his family, he was dedicated to both work and home life for a very long time and ultimately having the joy of retiring for a couple years before this unforeseeable day.
In mid December he had an accident in which he fell and was not acting like himself. We called the ambulance and for the next couple days put him through a rigorous amount of tests. To find out that he had an abscess on his brain from an infection. He was transferred to Henry Ford in Detroit which they treated the infection and abscess and tried to combat it the best way they could.
Eventually he was transferred to Faith Haven and each week he was getting better and coming back to us slowly, but surely. Therapy was doing their best to try to bring him back cognitively and as independent as they could. He battled COVID, Pneumonia, and the Flu while still maintaining a fighters spirit to come home.
This week he was diagnosed with pneumonia again and my dad being such a warrior this whole time, we thought that he would for sure overcome this challenge as he did so many times before. Last night, April 6th early in the morning we received a phone call saying that he was found unresponsive and that they are working on him. Ambulance was called and they did CPR for what seemed like an eternity. After repeated cardiac arrests and no response to anything, we told the doctor enough was enough and let him go home to the Lord.
We are all extremely devastated by this loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give my dad the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover that cost.
Anything is appreciated more than you can imagine, and if you could share this to help us get our goal it would be amazing.
Thanks Everyone.
