As many of you know, we found out last weekend that our parents became sick with Covid-19. John Beard Sr., was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. On May 1st, he was rushed to the hospital by ambulance with complications with his lungs. Once admitted into the hospital, it was determined after further testing that his lung cancer had progressed, he also had pneumonia and Covid-19. The following day, Tina Beard woke up with troubles being able to catch her breath and was also rushed to the hospital by ambulance. It was determined that she had a panic attack and also tested positive for Covid-19. Once it was determined how bad the virus was attacking her body they put her on oxygen and started giving her steroids. As of Monday her condition had worsened. Later that evening her oxygen needs had progressed to the point that she needed to be put on a ventilator in order to help her breath. Tuesday morning they took her off of her kidney rejection medication in order to help her body build up an immune system to fight off the virus. On May 5th, we got the phone call no kids should ever have to receive about their mom. We were informed that her kidney's had failed, which caused the rest of her organs to start shutting down. Around 4 PM the nurse informed us that her liver had failed also and it was time to let her go be with God and gain her angel wings. After watching the love of his life take her last breath, our dad had decided to begin his end of life care due to his condition from his lung cancer worsening. As of May 8th, our dad was put into a medically induced coma. On May 10th our dad was finally taken home to be with his best friend and the love of his life.
