John and Sarah

Hi, my name is Sarah. My fiancé, John, and I have a blended family of 7, with 5 kiddos. His, hers, and ours! They range in age from 16-4 months. We purchased our first home together in February. It’s a cute 5 bedroom ranch that fits our family perfectly. John works full time as a mechanic and horizontal drill operator and I am a stay at home mom to our baby girl.

Wednesday night John complained of chest pains. He had been having some pain for several days but it was much worse at that point and with his family history of heart problems we didn’t want to take a chance. I brought John to the ER as directed by his primary care doctor. Well that was 4 days ago and we are still here as things took a horrible turn on Thursday. To make a long story short, John went in for a routine procedure to have a scope done of his stomach and things went terribly wrong. He ended up bleeding from his nose which went into his lungs which made him stop breathing. They had to call a code blue and intubated him. And unfortunately that is where we still are at. John is under sedation with the ventilator in place. The doctors and nurses are working around the clock testing this and that to try to determine what happened and how to make things better.

I am setting this up because I honestly don’t know what else to do. At this point we could be in the hospital for another week and John probably won’t be able to work for a couple weeks after he gets to go home. We have a high monthly mortgage as well as other bills and with these medical bills I’m not sure how we will ever make ends meet. We will use the money raised to pay our mortgage as well as his health insurance deductible.
