John and Ellie's Making Ends Meet

If you know us, you know we recently moved Ellie to Lincoln now that her son graduated from high school. We got officially married last Halloween but have been "weekend spouses' for quite a while. We've been waiting to be together in the same house, in the same city, at the same time for a long time. She put her house up for sale at the beginning of July and started looking for work even before she moved here.

Well, long story short, the house is still on the market. She's had several interviews but no success in gaining employment. That hasn't stopped the financial requirements we both face. It's getting incredibly stressful for us both.

I've been working overtime, not including my second job, and engaging in my various side hustles to try and make extra money to cover everything, but to no avail. She still has house payments and bills that we'd hoped would be covered by selling her house and freeing her from the financial responsibilities of the past. The housing market has slowed to a halt, however.

She's still got applications out in so many places but the market is not finding a fit for her vast wealth of experience and talents. We're getting lots of help with that from a lot of you, thank you!

We're dividing the funds up to help with Ellie's financial situation; current expenses and debt; and basically keeping everything on and our, now, one vehicle running. I get paid once a month from my LPS job and twice for the side gig as LCP custodial, also known as the Dustbin Avenger position. I've got commission painting gigs that are good band-aids, but only band aids for now.
