Johanna’s COVID Recovery

Hi, I’m Lilly, I’m a good friend of the Luker-Hayden family and Johanna needs our help. Some of you may know Johanna as a friend, a neighbor, an activist or as one of your teachers from our Florida Christian days. To know her is to know a strong, passionate woman, who does not let life shake her. She is strength. Johanna has been battling Long COVID since 2020. She’s made it through heart attacks, strokes, heart failure and cognitive impairments and is still fighting to make it through for her kiddos. She has 4 kids Grant (18), Elena(17), Niko( 6) and Khloe(5) who all need their mom and while she wants to work to support them, her body can’t physically handle it. More days than not she’s bed bound. On the best days she can sit up in the wheel chair for a little while before having to return to bed for rest. The burden of disease has weighed heavily on them and financially they’re struggling. With physician visits every other week, IV treatments multiple times a week and medications, the reserved funds they had are almost gone.

My hopes with this page is to be able to raise money for them to use for the on-going medical bills and to provide for their kids a bit of a safety net for them not to worry.

Johanna or Joey as I call her, is like my sister. I know she’d never ask for help because she’s always been the strong one who takes care of everyone else. I’m asking for the help for her so she can focus on recovery and we can take care of her now.
