My name is Bailey Twiggs. I am fundraising for my cousin, Jocelyn Schnabel. Her family lovingly calls her "Joey." A little over a week ago, Joey was diagnosed with promyelocytic leukemia. She is fifteen; a high school freshman with a love for Disney, a talent for painting and sculpting, and a dedicated player on her softball team. She's also very academic, hoping to return to school as soon as she can.
Upon her diagnosis, she was immediately started on chemotherapy, undergoing treatments every evening. Over the next couple of months (and hopefully not more), she and her family face a long road ahead with aggressive treatments and many, many nights away from home.
Her mom, dad, and sister have not left her side throughout this process. Her mom, Mya, is a big believer in prayer chains, and the family appreciates your prayers for healing and strength. Her dad, Tom's motto in their time at Cardinal Glennon is "mind over matter," strengthening Joey's mindset and her fight, knowing she's not in this alone. Her big sister, Gaby, has been right by her side, helping take care of her moment-by-moment needs (especially if that means a pretty serious coloring contest). Even Joey courageously claims she's "Making progress every day." She's a fighter, and it's amazing to witness her family rally around her to aid her in her fight.
Please consider giving what you can to this fighter of a fifteen-year-old and her strong, loving family! They can definitely use the help and appreciate anything you can contribute. Thank you ALL in advance for supporting Joey! Let's help this sweet girl see days of better health and renewed strength!
