Joey's Journey: A Van for Hope and Healing

Donation protected
Hello, I’m the daughter of Joey Lamb of Emanuel County. He is one of the many victims of Hurricane Helene; however, his story does not begin with the hurricane. He has been a paraplegic for 55 years. He suffered injuries from an automobile accident when he was 18 years old. Through determination and his strong faith in God, he has accomplished many things his doctors said he would never achieve. He has endured many, many hours of physical therapy, surgeries, and even near death following a surgery several years ago. But he never gave up his hope that God would perform miracles for him. In time, he was able to use crutches and leg braces that allowed him to walk with some limitations.
Everything in my daddy’s life drastically changed about 9 months ago when he had a horrific fall. Following several CT scans, MRIs, and numerous doctor visits, his healthcare team could not offer many solutions for the severe injuries to his shoulder, arm, and neck. If he has surgery, he still may never walk again. These injuries destroyed his ability to use his crutches and braces and have left him in constant pain. He is now totally dependent on a wheelchair and spends everyday in bed. Those of you who know my daddy; he doesn’t ask for help much because he’d rather help others more. And he doesn't believe in asking others for money, I’ve actually never seen or heard of my daddy needing anyone’s money because it’s never been an issue.  He’s very heartfelt and feels It’s just wrong asking anyone for any help of money. So here I am asking myself for all your prayers of god sending him what he needs in his timing.

My daddy is in desperate need of a mobility van which will cost approximately $30,000- $50,000. Hurricane Helene destroyed thousands of pine trees of 100 acres, that were to soon be cut for this purchase for a van.

The handicapped van will enable him to travel to doctor appointments, attend his church services again, and also prevent total isolation from friends, family, and his community. In the past couple of months, his health is starting to get worse and we need to get him to his appointments as comfortably as possible.

Again, we appreciate that you were willing to read about my daddy’s urgent need. He is a kind Christian man who has been an inspiration to so many people, including strangers asking about his handicap. Any amount will be greatly appreciated, but if you are unable to donate, please pray for him, it’s all he ask of us prayers…never money. Also would you be willing to share our story with your families and friends? Thank you very much. (All funds will go directly to him.) And please keep him and the family in your prayers!

Thank you!
