Joey's fight to recovery

On the evening of January 28th Joey was driving home from work late at night when he hit a sheet of black ice and his car spun out, leaving him and his vehicle wrapped around a telephone pole right off the road. Following the accident, he had to be cut out of the vehicle and rushed to Mount Carmel hospital. Due to many physical injuries sustained in the accident Joey is now left paralyzed from the waist down and will be confined to a wheelchair with no one knowing what is to come next.

If you know Joey then you know how much he cares about his family, his friends, and his dogs. He is kind and funny and has more energy than some people combined. He loves going on walks with his dogs and being outside. Joey has a determination that some can't understand. He believes in living life to the fullest and finding joy where he is.

There is a road ahead that no one can truly understand, and we are all hurting for him and his family to know the changes to come. Why do bad things happen to good people? Well, we could spend forever asking that question, but to know that this person who so many love has such a road ahead of him, we just want to do what we can to lighten the load he will carry with him.

We are asking for donations, no matter how big or small, to help with his medical expenses and a long list of things to fit his needs along this journey. This cannot and will not change what has happened, but we hope that in doing this it will lighten the mental stress of this tragedy.

Our friend is a fighter, and he will not let this keep him down. As he continues on this journey, we ask that you keep him in your thoughts and to please remember to never take a single day for granted.
