Hi!

My name is Joey Canosa, I am 30 years old, and I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Rectal Cancer (T3 N2).

The cancer has begun to spread and my doctors have now found it in 6 of my lymph nodes.

I am raising funds to help pay for:

I have dreams, ambitions, and goals that all need to be put on pause for the moment so I can devote all of my will power to beat this cancer.

This is how my story started.

In January 2023 I began to feel constipated and no matter what type of laxative I took, I could not experience any type of relief.

I went to my Primary Care Physician multiple times between January 2023 and August 2023 for my issues with constipation.

I was misdiagnosed for many months and was told that I had hemorrhoids. I was put on a regimen of laxatives, stool softeners, and topical creams. None of them provided any relief to my symptoms.

Finally in August 2023 I was sent to a Gastroenterologist who told me I most likely had IBS-C and offered me more medication. I begged them to do some kind of testing and finally in September 2023 I was sent for a Pelvic/Abdomen CT scan.

The results of that CT scan created some questions so my doctor scheduled me for a Colonoscopy.

On 9/21/23 I had my colonoscopy and was told immediately upon waking up that I had cancer and it needed to be addressed ASAP. I asked if my symptoms were being magnified due to the hemorrhoids my Primary Care Physician told me I had. The Gastroenterologist told me I did not have hemorrhoids and explained that what they thought was a hemorrhoid was actually a large fungating tumor.

Since the date of that colonoscopy I have been sent to multiple doctors ranging from a Colorectal Surgeon, General Oncologist, Radiology Oncologist, Fertility Specialist, and more.

This is where my story is heading.

I am beginning Radiation treatment which will be followed by Chemotherapy and potentially life altering surgery.
