Joey's droom

Dag allemaal, Blijkbaar is joey voor ons een hele gewone jongen zodat de eigenlijke reden voor deze gofunding wat verloren ging. Graag wil ik jullie vertellen hoe het idee er eigenlijk gekomen is. Wie dat Joey is ga ik hier vertellen... Joey is een schat van een jongen, 16 jaar en geboren met verschillende handicaps. Hij heeft een mentale beperking en kent geen gevaar, zeker niet op straat. Vandaar de keuze voor een tandem. Hij heeft een hartafwijking waarvoor hij al verschillende hartoperaties moest ondergaan. Sport is goed voor hem maar hij kan niet in groep sporten omdat hij autistisch is. Hij sluit zich bij drukte helemaal af. Joey heeft ook een scoliose waarvoor hij jarenlang een corset heeft gedragen. Daarom de ergonomische zitting op de tandem en speciale vering. Wij gaan twee keer per week naar de kinesiste die zijn spieren moet losmaken , Joey heeft hypotone spieren. Geen kracht en ingekorte spieren. Joey moet door het leven gaan met een rugzakje vol : chromosonale afwijking, niemand gekend met dezelfde afwijking. Nog enkele andere problemen. De keuze voor deze tandem is niet heel spontaan gekomen, veel zoekwerk, proberen en bemiddelen. De tandem voelde voor Joey aan als : vrijheid....hij zit bovenaan wat goed is voor zijn zelfbeeld. De bestuurder zit lager en vooraan. Hij kan die persoon nadoen terwijl hij niet als eerste een confrontatie moet aangaan. Autisme hebben is geen cadeau... Het hele gezin leeft mee en handelt zodat elke vraag of opdracht voor hem heel duidelijk is. Joey had op die tandem zo een pretlichtjes in zijn ogen die ik lang niet meer gezien had . Hij was echt blij, maar dan ook echt blij en dat laat hij ook niet zomaar blijken. De aankoop van zo een tandem is niet goedkoop en kan dit niet alleen bekostigen. Graag zou ik met jullie die blik in zijn oogjes willen delen, het gevoel van warmte dat door mij heen ging bij het fietsen. Het zelfvertrouwen dat hij uitstraalde... Zo mooi, zo puur....zo blij. Joey zou op alle vlakken van zijn handicap enkele stappen vooruit gaan, fysiek maar ook mentaal. Joey woont al vanaf zijn geboorte bij ons (oma en opa) omdat de zorg voor hem te zwaar en gecompliceerd is. Joey is een een kind met een gouden randje rond.
