Help Joey Andrus Kick Kidney Cancer

It is so extremely surreal to be writing this but with a heavy heart I have to share that October 10th, 2019 my dad (Joey Andrus, 53) was diagnosed with kidney cancer in which a massive tumour is expanding beyond his left kidney, we have recently been informed this kidney has not been functioning for well over a month. The doctors have also found multiple nodules spread amongst both lungs. We are still waiting on a few test results that will determine an exact procedure plan, surgery timeline and also decipher all other specific areas the cancer may be located. With the information we have accumulated to date it is crucial he has the kidney/tumour removed in a massive procedure in which he will more than likely require a blood transfusion and multiple surgeons present. Currently I am giving him injections everyday to thin his blood in preparation for surgery and to try to break down some visible clotting in his main veins. After this procedure is completed successfully we have been made aware chemo-therapy will most likely be the best treatment to contain and control the remaining cancer and prevent it from spreading further. In the mean time we have made the decision to undertake a more natural/holistic approach to treating dads cancer. This consists of a complete change in lifestyle and dietary restrictions that cut out all things cancer cells thrive on. We currently have him on a complete plant based/renal diet along side using specific cannabis oils and daily juicing to ensure his remaining kidney, liver and heart stay strong and viable to fight any infection that may arise as his immune system is severely compromised fighting the current diseases his body is facing. As some may be aware this form of treatment is extremely expensive. Unfortunately he has been off work since the beginning of October and will not be able to return until all procedures are finished as he is very uncomfortable and can not be exposed to environments with high risk of contracting illness or infection.
Anyone that knows Joey knows that he is the most kind-hearted, brave, silly and courageous soul with an infectious sense of humour that will light up the entire room. I could go on for days. He is an inspiration to many and has been a hero to myself and my sister Mya Andrus since day one. No matter what he will put his life on hold to help anyone in any possible way he can no matter how big or small. Completely shocked and confused we remain positive and hopeful, our dad is the strongest man we know and he will kick Cancers ass without a doubt!! He has always fought for us girls to insure we are well taken care of and surrounded by all the love and support possible. He is an extremely selfless and prideful man who in tough times finds it hard to reach out and ask for help and we want nothing more than to stand at his side and support him in any way that we can. Between dietary changes, medical bills, travel expenses, ongoing everyday bills etc. and with him and myself being absent from work due to the rapid speed in which his diagnosis has arisen costs have already been climbing through the roof. This is only the beginning of the long journey we have ahead of us but we are ready for whatever is thrown our way!!! We all know Joey is a fighter so thank you to absolutely anyone who is able to lighten our load along the way, we are eternally grateful. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have been contacting us day and night, he is completely overwhelmed with all the love and support so early on in this battle for recovery and we are truly humbled by everyone who has reached out to us, your generosity is extremely valued and appreciated by our family!
