Hi all, I’m Molly and have the joy of being mom to Joseph. Joseph is in the hospital (again) for a rare(ish) complication from an endoscopy. Let me back up. Joey was born (don’t worry I’m just going to do a few highlights!) with hydrocephalus. In layman’s terms, that is water on the brain. He had a shunt placed at the base of the brain and into the peritoneal cavity at 2 weeks of age. He sustained an injury to the head at 10 months, which required a placement of the shunt at that time. Fast forward 31 years and he sustained another head injury in Jan/Feb of ‘24. He had shunt replacement surgery in May of ‘24. Since that surgery, Joey has had abdominal pains and constant headaches. Having the endoscopy was an attempt to identify the reason for his abdominal pain, which was increasing daily. Unfortunately, they bruised the pancreas during the endoscopy. Joey ended up in the emergency room within hours of going home from the endoscopy.

Now to the reason I’m setting this up for Joey. This is the second elongated stay in the hospital within 9 months for Joey. He has mounting medical bills as well as his regular monthly bills. As many of you know, he is an assistant store operations manager at New Seasons University Park. They have been wonderful, but he has had to call out a great deal. This has led to him having used his PTO. I am hoping that together we can alleviate his stress about paying his bills. Thank you for considering.
