Joey Medical Support: Stroke Victim
Donation protected
My Brother-in-Law Joseph suffered a severe stroke on Thursday, May 30th while at work. He complained of a headache and proceeded to pass out when his coworkers caught him. They noticed immediately the change in his facial expression and called 911. Within minutes the ambulance was there.
He suffered one of the worse strokes (hemorrhagic, I believe) where he had a major brain bleed and lost all feeling/motion on his right side. Luckily/prayerfully, no brain surgery was required. However, the next 6-12 months are going to be a long recovery.
Every day is a better day and progress is being seen. He is now at St. Mary's Rehab where he is getting speech, occupational and physical therapy on a daily basis. He is able to articulate in short words and is now able to lift his hand a few inches. Recently they put him on a machine that helps guide him to try and walk. The entire family is very happy and pleased with all the care he is receiving.
Now, my ask. Joey was the sole provider for his family. He worked 6 days a week at McCaffrey's Grocery store as their Meat Manager. He has been there for almost 30 years. The medical and household expenses are beginning to come in and I am asking for help for them.
His wife is with him daily. She suffers from lupus and other issues and has not been able to work. His 15 year old daughter is still home with them. He also has a married daughter and three beautiful grandchildren.
If you find in your heart to help give/support, I/they would greatly appreciate it. Doctors say a normal stroke recovery is 6 to 12 months. Normally no improvement occurs after that. We are all praying that Joey has a complete recovery and he is able to return to work as soon as possible.
Thanks for reading and/or supporting. God Bless.
