Greetings to all,
It is my honor and blessing to be a good friend of Joey. Over the past couple of years, we have really grown together. All who know Joey have their own reason for loving him. For me, whenever I see him, I know he is connected. Even in the times when he may sad or emotional, I know it is because he knows himself. He represents joy and happiness, peace and serenity, and he has the best hugs. He affectionately calls everyone at church "His tribe." No judgement or denials. He feels loved and accepted, received as he gives. Joey is always ready to help wherever or whatever he can. Sometimes it's not always easy for him. He believes in himself, sometimes more than we do. He seeks opportunities be a part of his tribe. He loves to let his light shine.
This February 28th, he will be celebrating his 40th birthday. Throughout 2019, he and I have had several conversations on how he is wanting to go again to the Big Sky Retreat in Montana. His desire to be a part of the Retreat’s energy, battles with his underlining concern of cost. His caretaker, Sheral will need to be there with him, so most all costs are doubled. We have reviewed the trip and have established a budget of $6,500. Through Joey’s disability income, he believes that he can cover $1,500 of the costs, leaving $5,000 for you and me to provide.
Here are some target dates
1. February 28th (His birthday) $1,000
2. April 30th $2,400 Total funds raised
3. June 30th $3,800 Total funds raised
4. August 30th $5,000 Total funds raised
There are two ways that you can help: the first is of course to give. The second way is to share on your social media accounts. Tell them Joey’s story and ask them to share on their social media, and so on. If 35 people donate $5.50 once a week for 6 months, the goal will be done. Our gifts will have them flying high. Big Sky, watch out. Joey’s coming to town!!!
I have experienced two of these Retreats and will be there again this fall, I know the energy and vibrations that Joey has described. It is a regeneration of the soul. This is something that will touch Joey’s heart and is something of deep desire for him. I can think of no better way to express our love and support for this kind and loving spirit known to me as Joey, than with this account. Big Sky retreat’s theme this year is quite fitting -- "Illumination" and Joey shines on! The halls will be glowing with Joey!!!
