Joey Hopkins Memorial Service

On Father’s Day my best friend , Jamie Rivera, watched her beloved daddy take his final breath. On June 10th Joey suffered a massive heart attack while carrying a box of toys up the stairs for his grandkids. His heart stopped, although paramedics were able to get a pulse back, Joey coded 4 times that night and sadly suffered a severe anoxic brain injury. Jamie never left his bedside for 10 days, pouring every ounce of her soul into trying to help him wake  up again. Despite extraordinary medical efforts, Joey succumbed to his injuries on 06/20/21 leaving behind his daughter Jamie Rivera, Granddaughter Samantha Warner, Grandson Isaac Rivera, and Granddaughter Gracie Rivera.

This tragedy came very unexpectedly and the family is devastated. Jamie and her father had waited so long for this time when they were finally able to be together. They had so many plans, so many things left to do . To see my friend so “complete" and happy, with her daddy finally by her side was truly a dream come true. To see her lose him so tragically, is unimaginably heartbreaking .

I’m asking for donations to help Jamie with funeral costs and arrangements along with a few other unexpected expenses that have come along with this devastating situation.
