Joey & his family need your help

Donation protected
My name is Ashley & I’m asking everyone for help for my friend Nat & her little boy Joey.

On Wednesday 14th December 2022 Joey was taken to hospital, he had an MRI & the hospital had found a brain tumour. The tumour was measuring around 3x4cm & is just above his brain stem in the middle of his brain which makes it quite complicated.

Joey has a slight limp and has lost a lot of use of his right arm and fingers and it hadn’t progressed any further than that until recently.

The treating surgeon managed to get a sample of the tumour but Joey didn't wake up properly from the anaesthetic so they have done a CT and found that the tumour had started bleeding but in an unrelated spot to the surgery, they can’t determine when it started. It wasn't a big bleed and they can resolve on their own depending on the damage done. The hospital has had to put him on a ventilator and he's been in the Pediatric intensive care unitwhich you could imagine is extremely hard for the family to see.

For now, the latest is that the bleed has stabilised & the shunt he has had inserted seems to be working & the tumour hasn’t changed in size over the past 24 hours.

Next step is to gradually take him off support and see how he wakes up ❤️

Despite everything we have been told he hasn't changed and still just wants to play and be silly, laughing and smiling like all 4 year old boys should.

My aim is to raise enough funds to give this family options. I want there to be enough money behind them to save their little boy if that’s what it all comes down to. Not only is Nat not working so she can be with her son but her & partner Michael also have their 1 year old daughter Ellie to think about.

“Our world has been completely turned upside down and we are devastated and heart broken but we just have to take every step as it comes and hope for the best.” - Natalie.
