Our Dad, Joey, has Advanced ALS. Please Help Him!
Donation protected
After experiencing symptoms of extreme fatigue and difficulty swallowing for the last 6 months with slurred speech becoming obvious in late February our loving Dad, Joey Grauman, was diagnosed with a very aggressive ALS in April of 2021, a week before his 60th Birthday. This rapid, progressive form of this disease is called Bulbar ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. There is no treatment or cure. Just this week, the doctor told our Dad he should expect to lose his voice in the next few months. Kaiser denied his claim for a voice machine as it is not considered medically necessary for someone to speak. Our most urgent and immediate need is to obtain this device.
As we see him deteriorate before our eyes, we know the end will come too quickly. In addition to not being able to speak or swallow, he soon will not be able to walk on his own. Joey will soon need round the clock care as he suffers in silence. We are only beginning to understand the nightmare we are all living.
This Go Fund Me has been established by my brother Wyatt and I to help defray the mounting costs of our Dads daily care and medical needs. My brother is still in college and I have just started my career.
Please consider a donation to help support our Dad, Joey. We are so grateful for every dollar. Your generosity will ease some of the burden and help us focus on making memories with our Dad, while we still can.
Thank you! Edison and Wyatt
