Joey Bushman is sixteen years old and a sophomore in high school. He is remarkably kind, and has a quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He lost his mother, Kathy, suddenly in 2016, the week after he turned eleven. His father, Joe, has raised Joey on his own ever since. But now Joe is also gone, having passed away suddenly on April 12th, 2022. Neither parent had life insurance. Joey is now an orphan and under the care of his sister, Christie. Kathy and Joe were both beloved members of their community. Many have reached out to ask what they can do to help, so Joey’s adult siblings have organized this fundraiser for his education. Joey will be applying for grants and scholarships, and will be working while he attends school. The goal is to minimize the amount of student loans he will need to acquire. All funds raised will be put into a 529 College Savings Plan in Joey’s name, for tuition, books, fees, and living expenses while he attends a university. Joey’s current plan is to earn his Associates Degree at Northland Pioneer College while still in high school, then to study Psychology at the University of Arizona. Joey wants to be a Psychologist so he can help other children who have gone through trauma. Please consider donating to this sweet young man who has endured so much at such a young age. And please consider sharing on social media to help spread the word.
