On Monday, August 2, 2021, Joey, age 13, and his dad were driving down IL Route 71 near their home, when a pickup truck crossed the center lane and sideswiped their car. The impact caused the car to spin out of control and strike the guardrail.

Joey died on the scene from his injuries.

Anyone who knew Joey, knew he was kind, sweet, funny and had that silly grin. He was an avid Mine Craft player and was best friends, with his older sister, Kelcie.

At this young age, we never anticipate having to plan a funeral for our young ones.

Any funds raised, will go towards the funeral and burial. We appreciate greatly anything that you can donate small or large to hopefully get as close to this goal as possible to provide some comfort for the Burdiak family.

Our family is in shock and cannot imagine a day without our, Joey or JoJo as his mom, Tammy called him.
