Those who know me, know that Mike O Brien, my great friend and brother from another mother, had some devasting news last month when his sixty-year-old brother Joey O'Brien who had been fighting the terrible disease of diabetes since he was five , experienced his second stroke on July 18 which rendered him unable to care for himself. It was touch and go there for a while with feeding tubes, many hotel rooms or sleeping in hospital chairs through the long nights with a brother who still does not recognize him or others. Now thank God, Joey is being transferred to Sunny View Rehab to see that if with constant care, that Joey can form some sort of independent life again. His rehab will not be days but closer to months. Life unfortunately does not stop because of that, and the bills are beginning to pile up for Joey and his caregivers. Help my friend Mike, Joey and his family be able to concentrate on getting better and be his medical advocate instead of worrying about the bills. God bless you all for reading this request.
