On Saturday July 11, 2020 Joey and Teresa were hit head on while riding their motorcycle. They were heading back from Jackson and only 10 minutes away from home when a vehicle that signaled to turn right made an unexpected U-turn and struck them. The vehicle fled the scene leaving them on the side of the road. They were both rushed to the Emergency Room at South Sacramento Kaiser. Due to COVID-19 they cannot have any friends or family visit during this pressing time.
Joey is suffering from two skull fractures causing slight brain swelling and blood trauma. He also has a broken neck causing him to wear a neck brace but thankfully no spinal cord injury. He also has slight trauma to his back and extreme facial trauma to the nose, cheeks, and mouth.
Teresa is suffering from a broken collar bone and severe injury to her right leg with numerous broken toes which will lead to an in-depth orthopedic surgery. We are waiting for her road rash to recover so a rod can be placed in her tibia for support.
Joey and Teresa are in desperate need for their community of friends and family to come together during this tragic time. They are on the road to recovery but due to the severity of their injuries, recovery, therapy, and hospital fees we are trying to raise money so they can focus on healing and not on financial stressors. We currently do not know the extended amount of time Joey and Teresa will be out due to their injuries.
Please take the time to keep them both in your prayers. We are trying to raise as much funds as we possibly can but understand if you cannot donate. However, we do ask that you share this so we can reach each and every person who has been apart of their lives.
