Joevanna's Italy Performance Tour

Hello, my name is Joevanna and I love music and I'm really grateful for everything music has given me! It makes me very happy to play the bass, and music has also been a friend to me because it helped me cope with the loss of someone very special to me.
I first began to play the bass at school thanks to my awesome teacher Ms. Layton at Francis Scott Key MS. Then I took a chance to audition for the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra (MCYO) of Strathmore last summer and since then, it's been really cool having two musical families at school and at MCYO!
This July 2017, MCYO is taking part in a performance-tour in Italy, called the American Celebration of Music, where young musicians can be a part of exclusive concerts (and sightsee!) in Rome, Florence, Cremona, and the Amalfi coast, if they can fund their trip.
I'm hoping to be a part of this once in a life-time trip, so I can perform, and learn, and experience Italian culture alongside new musician friends from different places, and come back home to share what I learned with my musical families here at home!
My mom Lizelle has always been a big support and so far, she has put together a little more than half of the trip fees. Anything you could help with will help me get closer to being a part of this awesome opportunity, and thank you so much for reading my story.
