I am a small farmer in the Hudson Valley New York I have 1 Taby 1 Calico and 1 maltese mix. We are trying to keep them Fed and healthy. During Hurricane Irene, Super Storms Sandy and Lee, and the recent snowstorms of 2014 my farm was devastated! I not only lost all my greenhouses but I was forced to move my animals to another farm as well. I lost everything I had worked so tirelessly to build for the last 21 years.
Ever since the morning of Hurricane Irene, and the loss of my father, that very same morning, the road to recovery has been very difficult. I lost power for 14 days and all of our perishables; In spite of all of this I kept moving forward with the little bit of crop I was left with.
In the following spring I lost my Mother.
Just when I thought I was getting back on my feet I was hit with Super Storm Sandy and the recent heavy snow of 2013/2014. I lost the last of my greenhouses.
During all of this i mainly tryed to keep my pets fed and taken care of before anything else.
I just want to create a place for the community to come and have a good, locally grown product raised right here by a local farmer who has dedicated his heart to giving people what they deserve.
My customers vary from local folks to weekenders from NYC. Please donate to help keep my Promise to my parents to make this Farm a succesful business in our community. Please come by for a visit to our farm at 1127 Route 216 in Poughquag, NY.
Now in 2017 we were hit with Super snow storm Stella and it just leveled our new High Tunnel. Thank goodness they were not inside at the time. It is shelter when weather gets bad now it is gone. We are greatful please shop if you are in the area. We mainly want to make sure we take care of Honeycomb our Taby. He has a little Calico sister Lola and an adopted brother Chip who needs food and shots. I only need help with 1 medication so Honeycomb does not lose vision. The bulk of the funds are to rebuild the Greenhouses and replace lost perishables. We estimate under $1000.00 to take care of our Farm Pets. The remaining is to rebuild. I will be able to pay everyone back for helping with the animals and greenhouse once I can function again. We are saddened that we can not take care of them properly right now. We have been trying with extreme effort to save the land. Also we have been trying to raise this for a while now. We just lost another greenhouse from superstorm Stella March 17, 2017. We are unable to work out of barn due to needing help completing. I am doing all this with one arm. We are trying to get our Farm food bus up and running as a new store instead of barn. Please help Thank You.
