Joe's Recovery Journey

Donation protected
update: Joe is home and happy to be. His care at Saint Elias specialty hospital was incredible. Absolutely an amazing facility and staff.

Gonna continue to be a long road to recovery, but it seems as though he's feeling very well and has a positive attitude working on building his strength and healing his body so when it's time start walking again.

Jen and Jill could not be more thankful and humble all over your prayers and support.

Dear Friends and Family, We are reaching out in hopes of lightening the load for the Pietz Family.

Recently, Joe endured a severe four-wheeler accident while riding with his brave son, Landen. The accident left Joe with nine fractures in his pelvis, sacrum, and vertebrae. He was airlifted to Anchorage, where he is now undergoing extensive surgery, physical therapy, and recovery.

Joe's journey to healing will be long and challenging. He will be staying at a facility in Anchorage for several weeks before returning home, where he will continue his recovery in a wheelchair for approximately three months, with walking limited to transfers only. Although there are other minor injuries, the estimated recovery time is anywhere from six to twelve months.

Recognizing the severity and extent of this recovery, we, as a family, are reaching out to ask for support from friends and family to help ease their heavy burden.

For those who know Joe, you know he is one of the hardest-working, kindest, most genuine, and generous people we are blessed to know and love. Joe's positive spirit, dedication, and love for his family shine through in everything he does.

We know the impending hardship will take a toll on his family for months and possibly years to come, but we are hopeful that Joe will recover fully. We are humbly asking for your support in any way possible, whether through a monetary donation or by keeping the Pietz family in your prayers. Your help is deeply appreciated and will make a significant difference in their lives during this difficult time.

Thank you for your generosity and support. We are incredibly grateful to have Joe alive and on the path to recovery.

With heartfelt thanks from the luckiest cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends of Joseph Pietz.
