Joe's Journey from Cop to Cancer
If you are visiting this page, you are a friend, colleague, family, or believer. Joe whether you know him or not would make you smile. He would make you feel safe, he would care for you as you were one of his own. His arms would hold you until your every fear and tear went away. He is a son, brother, father, husband, and most of all a man of faith. This is Joe. He is your best friend.
He is a man who serves and protects his community. Believes that he can take your pain and heal your soul. His heart continues to beat for his boys. He is their real-life Superman. They pray for him each night for one more day to coach them, one more day for him to chase them around the house. One more day to laugh and love them. Their one more day is what continues to keep Joe fighting.
As many of you may not know, Joe at the age of 36 has stage 4 esophagus cancer that spread to his abdominal lining.
Last August he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and through chemotherapy, he thought he beat it as the doctors told him it was in remission. Some of the cancer cells stuck and grew in the stomach lining area making this a terminal diagnosis. He went from 220lbs to less than 120lbs today.
Joe is a patrolman with the Joliet Police Department but has been unable to work since October 2020. Joe’s (PTO-personal time off) has run out and is no longer collecting his full salary.
Joe has been married to Anna for 9 years and they have three boys Ayden-12, Giovanni-6 and Lincoln-4.
This family is his everything and instead of healing and fighting he is focusing on how to make ends meet to take care of his family. He is a provider and fighter and, he will overcome but we need you.
So here is where you come in. We have set up this GoFundMe page to help support Joe and his family through this very difficult time. Please make a donation to help Joe, Anna, and their three boys get through this.
All I ask is you read this and if you can't donate please share this story. There is a Cop, Father, Son, or Brother out there who has a Community, Wife, Mother, and Sister who need Joe to keep fighting and focus on pushing forward.
Let's unite together and give him hugs and prayers as he would do for all of us.
I can not thank you enough for taking the time to read this and saying a prayer, it means so much to all of us, and because of you, Joe will beat cancer.
God Bless You.
