Joe's ALS Story
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rachel, and I was married for 37 years to a great guy. In November 2020 he was diagnosed with ALS. By March he had to quit working. He passed away in November 2022. Joe was 10yrs younger than me and was supposed to keep working, and we were going to have this great retirement. We even bought a retirement home two months before we found out he had ALS.
We had to buy an accessibility van for his wheelchair a year after his diagnosis because he could no longer walk. And now he's gone and I have a van that I don't need and I can't sell it. I owe too much money on it and the place I bought it from has me on a waiting list to buy it back, but, they will not give me what I owe on it. So I have to pay them to take it back.
I would love to pay it off with the bank, and then donate the van to a Veteran's Charity in Joe's name. He would have liked that.
