Joely Way’s big smile lights up a room and she is a beautiful and kind human being. Sadly, this week, Joely, who just turned 24, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma cancer in her liver and lungs.

After experiencing extreme fatigue, nausea and a lingering cough, visits to urgent care, emergency room, and hospital for scans, a biopsy
and scopes doctors found “innumerable tumors” but have yet to locate the primary source of the cancer.

Joely began chemotherapy treatment on Monday July 12th and awaits genetic testing for more targeted therapy. Joely is set to graduate
SDSU next month with her BA in Sustainability.
