Joel’s Recovery Journey

Hello, my name is Audry Pfeifer. I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my younger brother. Thank you for clicking the link and taking the time to read about, donate, or share this with our community. Several weeks ago my younger brother, Joel Pfeifer (25), was admitted into the hospital. Soon thereafter it was discovered that he has a rare form of cancer called metastasized teretoma. When mature it becomes permanently benign. However, there is a small window towards the beginning stages where it rarely becomes malignant. Because malignant teratomas have usually spread by the time of diagnosis, systemic chemotherapy is needed.

After already undergoing one surgery for the original tumor, Joel has 9 weeks of chemo ahead of him to hopefully take care of the other 3 which are located in his lungs and abdomen.

Joel has already been out of work for several weeks and still has several months before he can get back to his hardworking, fun-loving, goofy, adventurous self again.
