Joel’s Fight Against Gastrointestinal Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Morgan and I’m writing this on behalf of our dear friends, Joel Stith, fiancée, Brittany and their 3-year-old daughter.
Joel and Brittany became concerned when Joel experienced bleeding symptoms that warranted an hospital visit. After many weeks and a slew of tests, Joel was diagnosed with Gastrointestinal Cancer. A surgery to remove a tumor in his small intestine will be attempted in early July. Pending the full pathology report, chemotherapy may be the following course of action.
As primary provider to the household, Joel has missed many days of work due to his symptoms and hospital stay, with an extended recovery post-surgery coming up. The disability payments offered barely cover half of his monthly salary. Brittany is working part-time to care for Joel and their daughter.
Joel and Brittany have dedicated their careers as a paramedic and an EMT to help those in emergency need. It’s our turn to repay the selflessness they’ve shown to our Buffalo community. We ask for donations to help cover bills while Joel is recovering and undergoing treatment.
If you have ever spent time with Joel, you know he’s the first one to make the room laugh. We know their family will face this diagnosis with strength and laughter, despite a path that may feel heavy. We are rooting for you!
