((Update: We are moved beyond words at the incredible generosity of our friends and family. We knew we were surrounded by wonderful humans but this.... is so incredible. The original goal of $3000 will cover our mom's chemo, the rest will help cover other medical, home, and food costs. Again thank you so much.... from the bottom of all of our hearts. Your generosity will stay with our family forever!))
In early April 2020, our mother, JoEllen Moreno, was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer. She underwent a successful surgery on May 7th, however two days later her husband of 17 years, Fred Moreno, suddenly & tragically passed away. The following week she was informed by her oncologist that her cancer had spread to her lymph nodes which means she will need to undergo 12 weeks of chemotherapy starting Monday June 15th.
My mother is currently grieving the loss of her husband, fighting for her own health, and is now facing great financial hardship. Fred's sudden passing has also meant losing a large portion of the income my mother has needed to pay for her home and medical bills. The money from this fundraiser will help pay for the expensive but LIFE SAVING chemo medication she needs as well as help supplement her income so can keep the home she shared with our stepfather for the last several years.
This is an unprecedented time in history, the current global pandemic has brought hardships for many... because of that any amount you can offer will be appreciated beyond our ability to express. Thank you for contributing to help ensure that our mother is healthy and cared for while she heals from not only breast cancer but an aching heart.
With love & peace,
Jana, Matt, and Melissa Griffin
