Hi my name is Joelle Velez, and I’m an award winning filmmaker, actress and writer based in Chicago, IL! I’m currently working on my final project at the Second City Film School called Sock It To Me.
Sock It To Me is a comedic psychological thriller. It’s the breakup story of Damien and Evie who seem like the ideal couple after moving in together. But when Damien finds an unfamiliar sock in their laundry, it triggers his fears that Evie is cheating, and sets off Evie's paranoia that someone is living in the house with them. We follow their downward spiral as they investigate the sock and see if they would die to save their relationship. Spooooooky!
I’m soo excited about this project but I can’t make it happen without.. You guessed it… You ;) and MONEY. So i am asking you all my beloved friends, family, internet acquaintances, creatives, philanthropists, for $5,000.
The funds will go toward:
- Paying my crew and actors
- Renting a location and equipment (cameras and lights and sound are expensive!)
- Keeping everyone well fed
- Covering post-production costs if there’s money left <3
