Alaska Camp Coach Trip - 2016

I've been given the opportunity to help some young people, and I can't ignore it. I also can't afford it. So here is my humble request for help...
I have an opportunity to spend a significant amount of time with the native youth from some of our most remote villages and communities in the country, by volunteering as a Camp Coach at Camp Agaiutim. They are a people group plagued by generations of drug and alcohol addiction, suicide, and abuse. These are kids that have experienced trauma in ways that neither you or I could ever image and I get to live with them, in tents, in their wilderness. I get to show them genuine, healthy love and affection. I get to be WITH them and share with them hope. I get to show them that they are worth the time and attention and that their lives have value.
Camp Agaiutim ( or Camp An as it is affectionately known) is located in the very remote region of western Alaska. The travel consists of a series of flights ranging from 747's to tiny bush planes and even a 17 mile boat ride up the Yukon River from the village of Emmonak. It is a rustic camp presently using tents for all of its facilities. Electricity is provided by the camp’s own diesel generator and such amenities as running water, sewer, telephones, stores, or any other conveniences are not available in the area. All of the supplies and equipment (including drinking water) are shipped from Anchorage into the village of Emmonak then taken by boat to the campsite.
What I'm saying is, travel is expensive. But I believe these kids are worth it.
I'm raising money to cover travel to/from the camp, as well as a 3-4 day personal retreat in Talkeetna just before the camp begins. Your help will allow me to decompress and resensitize myself to the natural place of just BEING - free from the inundation of technology and stuff and consumption - in order to grow personally, but also to be in the best form possible to connect with, and help these hurting folks.
My trip is in the middle of June, so I'm asking for your help now as flights are still fairly reasonable.
There are many reasons I am excited about this trip; Alaska has always been a place I wanted to go, and a personal retreat is something I've been talking about taking since my 30th birthday. But once my friend, Chelsea, shared with me her heart for this people group a few years ago, a desire was born. Chelsea (and others) have been returning to this camp for several years and have developed significant, meaningful and long lasting relationships with young people that otherwise have not known this kind of consistency. I believe that consistency is the language of love and I would be overwhelmed with gratitude to those who would help me speak this language of love to a group of young people who desperately need to hear it.
