Hello! I’d like to thank anyone who took the time to read this. This is the story of a hardworking and determined man.

¡Hola! Me gustaría agradecer a cualquiera que se haya tomado el tiempo de leer esto. Esta es la historia de un hombre trabajador y decidido.

About 6 years ago Joel Hernandez got diagnosed with Kidney failure and rushed to the emergency room.

Hace aproximadamente 6 años, a Joel Hernández le diagnosticaron insuficiencia renal y lo llevaron de urgencia a la sala de emergencias.

Not a day goes by where we are told or asked,

‘’ But he’s so young’’ ‘’ Does he smoke?’’ ‘’ Does he drink’’ were things we constantly heard, and No has always our answer. 

No pasa un día en el que nos digan o nos pregunten, ‘’Pero es tan joven’’ ‘¿Fuma?’’ ‘¿Bebe?’ eran cosas que escuchábamos constantemente, y nuestra respuesta siempre es No.

We were not prepared for how fast our lives were about to change…

trips to the cardiologist, endless appointments, medicine after medicine. Even with his illness he’s never failed in his role of being a dad and as a husband. If you know him you know how hardworking and committed he is! Even on his darkest days where he feels the worse he will never fail to provide for his girls.

No estábamos preparados para lo rápido que cambiarían nuestras vidas... viajes al cardiólogo, citas interminables, medicina tras medicina. Aún con su enfermedad nunca ha fallado en su rol de padre y esposo. ¡Si lo conoces sabes lo trabajador y comprometido que es! Incluso en sus días más oscuros, donde se siente peor, nunca Deja de mantener a sus hijas.

A year ago he was rushed to the hospital again and immediately began dialysis. Doctors said if we would have waited any longer he wouldn’t have made it. Such frightening news, but Joel hasn’t let that bring him down.

Hace un año lo llevaron de urgencia al hospital e inmediatamente comenzó la diálisis. Los médicos dijeron que si hubiéramos esperado más, no lo habría logrado. Una noticia tan aterradora, pero Joel no ha dejado que eso lo deprima.

This March will mark 2 years since he began his dialysis treatment and it has not been easy. This process has taken a huge toll on every single one of us mentally, physically and financially. It hasn’t been easy, but one thing you should know is that he will always have a smile on his face, fighting and pushing through.

Este mes de marzo se cumplirán 2 años desde que comenzó su tratamiento de diálisis y no ha sido fácil. Este proceso ha cobrado un alto precio en cada uno de nosotros mental, física y financieramente. No ha sido fácil, pero una cosa que debes saber es que siempre tendrá una sonrisa en su rostro, luchando y empujando.

Joel has a family of 3 girls and a loving wife.

He has a daughter who is about to go to college in less than 5 months, a 11 year old transitioning into a preteen and a 4 year old who is barely learning about the real world. Those girls need their dad and that’s why we are asking for your help. Anything helps!

Joel tiene una familia de 3 niñas y una esposa amorosa. Tiene una hija que está a punto de ir a la universidad en menos de 5 meses, una niña de 11 años en transición a preadolescente y una niña de 4 años que apenas está aprendiendo sobre el mundo real. Esas niñas necesitan a su papá y es por eso que estamos pidiendo su ayuda. cualquier cosa ayuda

He is now on the list for a transplant if all goes well then he will have a transplant in Gods favor. Along with that, more financial problems will come our way and we are in serious need. He will need medication for life and hospital bills will come in being more than we can ever afford. All funds made will go into his treatments,medication and trips to the doctors. We strongly believe God is good and will guide us through. Thank you to whoever donates or simply shares this on social media.  

Ahora está en la lista para un trasplante, si todo va bien, tendrá un trasplante a favor de Dios. Junto con eso, vendrán más problemas financieros y tenemos una gran necesidad. Necesitará medicamentos de por vida y las facturas del hospital serán más de lo que podemos pagar. Todos los fondos obtenidos se destinarán a sus tratamientos, medicamentos y viajes a los médicos. Creemos firmemente que Dios es bueno y nos guiará. Gracias a quien done o simplemente comparta esto en las redes sociales.
