Joel Reyes: Celebrated Teacher, Cherished Father
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the heartbreaking news of the unexpected passing of our dear friend Joel, who left us on Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was a cherished husband, father, and teacher who touched the lives of many.
Joel was always a teacher in some capacity, but it wasn’t until recently, when he went back to school to seek higher education, that he realized teaching in the classroom was his calling. He began his career as a teacher at Crocket Elementary in 2020 during the height of the Covid pandemic. He was voted Teacher of the Year in 2022, and in 2024, while balancing teaching 4th grade, tutoring, and drama club, he earned his Master’s degree. He was a well-respected and beloved teacher who will be sorely missed.
Joel is leaving behind his family: wife Nidia, son Josue, daughter Natalia, and his many students whom he cherished.
As we navigate our profound loss, we are seeking support to ensure that Joel receives the beautiful farewell he deserves.
We are humbly reaching out for support for Joel’s family during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and be deeply appreciated. Your generosity will help cover the costs of funeral services, burial, and any other related expenses. We understand that not everyone may be in a position to donate, and we are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer, whether it is through donation, a kind word, or by sharing this campaign with others.
With gratitude and love,
Fellow Teachers and Friends
