"He was such a testimony of God's power; the scars that touched his body did not twist his heart."

"He was kind, considerate and always had a smile on his face."

"He was the sweetest guy, he was so strong and was always happy."

"Heaven gained an angel."   "A special man."

"Always so kind, just the best person."

"My kids loved Joe and he always, always would stop what he was doing to say hi and talk to us."

"Always will have memories of his kindness and his smile that would greet people at church."

"He was a caring man with a great attitude and a good sense of humor."

"Always cheerful and dependable."

We remember Joe, not for his scars or burns, but for his joy and enthusiasm for Christ.  Whether it was through his custodial work at Fair Oaks Church, or his teaching Sunday School at Golden Hills Church, Joey made an impact on all that he interacted with.

At the age of 5, Joey was in a burn accident that saw him lose many of his fingers and toes.  What corresponded was multiple surgeries and physical struggles.  Despite what many could view as a life long burden, Joe lived with kindness, happiness, and a love that touched so many.

He so loved his Heavenly Father and kids loved Joey!  Those of us that had the pleasure of knowing Joe, know that he has a new body in Heaven now.  And for that, we are so grateful.

The money raised will go directly towards costs associated with the funeral, including casket, service and burial.  Joey's siblings, Maria and Tony, will be in charge of the final expenses.
