His immune system declined rapidly over the last few weeks. These ailments ultimately led him to live out his last days in a hospital in Irving, TX and then his final resting place, a nursing home with incredibly competent and caring staff with the help of hospice nurses. They were amazing in every way and helped my family and I come to peace with his passing. He was surrounded by family and friends when he passed.
As an uninsured preacher, Joe had limited income, making the last few months both emotionally and financially unbearable for him, my mom and me. We have pooled our resources, but are unable to afford the exorbitant cost of end-of-life care, nor the full cost of funeral services.
Throughout this process, my family and I have witnessed the gracious spirit of our friends and family who have visited the hospital, helped walk his dog Buddy, or supported us in every way during our time of need. We are inspired by the kindness we have experienced, and appreciate that Joe's compassion, love, and respect for all beings have been reciprocated by those who have stood by our side.
We appreciate any and all donations. Your contributions will help us ensure that Joe's service reflects the caring and thoughtful person he was. Thank you for your consideration and encouragement during this difficult time.
