My name is Joe, and I am a 36-year-old native Houstonian. I am currently facing an incredibly difficult time as a domestic violence survivor having to vacate my own apartment and having no family support. After leaving the situation, I also lost all of my income, which has made things even more challenging. Right now, it is nearly impossible for me to find a shelter or program that will accept both myself and my service dog. I have reached out to numerous pet agencies that assist with these situations, but they are either at capacity or do not have the funds to help.

The funds raised here will go directly toward providing the basics/cellphone phone bill for me and food for my service dog Cody. This includes hygiene items, a safe place to stay like a hotel, food for my service dog, and help with transportation. I do not have my own vehicle, and the cold weather has made our situation even more urgent and challenging. Every bit of support will help us get through this difficult period and ensure we have what we need to stay safe and healthy.

I have exhausted all available resources and contacts that the city of Houston and Harris County can provide me. I have also reached out on numerous Facebook groups, but have not received any response more than to contact them next week.
