Joe Terrazas' funeral fund

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Kiana Terrazas. As some of you may or may not know I lost my uncle Joe suddenly to heart failure on Friday, April 12th. It is still hard for me and my family to comprehend that he is no longer with us. He leaves behind a wife and a 10 year old daughter. This man was a staple in his community of Pico Rivera and will be truly missed.

As my family endures this heartache, we are asking for help. Whether it be a donation of any kind or a simple share of this GoFundMe campaign it will be greatly appreciated.

Here are some kind words from friends and neighbors of my uncle Joe Terrazas.

Joe Terrazas was a wonderful man, but there is no need to explain that to those who knew him closely. He was taken from us too young and will be sorely missed, but we take comfort that his suffering has ended and he is filled with joy in the presence of His Savior. Now, we must come together as a community of friends and family to bid him the honorable farewell he and we all deserve. I ask that in respect to Joe and his family that you give generously and with good memories of times spent with Joe and consider how those interactions with him have influenced each of us.

Lemoran Ave. isn’t what it used to be since Joe left us. He was the definition of neighborly. I moved into our first family home in 2011, and Joe was the first person I met. I had just placed a bid on the house and was looking into the windows to get a glimpse at what might be our home.
Joe was standing with another neighbor, Bill, across the street. Joe called me over and said, “You buying that house? What’s your story?” I told him we were a couple of teachers with two very young kids, and he told me the house had been waiting for us to make it a family home once again. Joe went on to say that there was no better street in Pico to live in. Then Joe said
something to me that struck me, and has stayed with me since, “You don’t have to worry about your house. I’ll always be here to take care of it.” Joe meant what he said too! He was the best neighbor I’ve ever had. He’d even sweep my driveway when he saw it needed sweeping and he had a broom in his hand. Joe always made time to ask about my day while we were watering
our yards. He’d always have a story to share about the neighborhood and the old days in Pico. Watering my grass and not seeing Joe feels strange, and a bit empty. Lemoran has suffered a great loss, but heaven just gained the best neighbor they’ll ever have!
