It is with a heavy heart and humbly that I ask for help.
As some of you may know, at the beginning of the year, the father of my children, Joe, was diagnosed with Cancer.
He had several surgeries, an amputation, as well as immunotherapy and we were optimistic; however, we were given the devastating information that it has reached Stage 4. He has advanced nodular melanoma. This is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer. It has spread to his lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and other parts of his body. Unfortunately, the doctor said there is nothing more they can do. It is terminal.
While they cannot say precisely how long Joe has to live, The Dr. said life expectancy is 6 weeks to a year at best; however, in their experience and how fast it spread, they believe Joe only has "a couple of months."
With the help of some amazing friends, he will try an experimental medication and pray for more than a couple of months.
His SSI and Disability applications were denied despite providing letters from the Dr.'s and his medical information. It takes time that he is not promised for them to process the appeals
"A couple of months" is possibly all he has to make arrangements and figure out his end-of-life care.
We want him to spend the rest of the time he has focusing on his quality of life, not working and worrying about how he is going to pay his bills and expenses.
"A couple of months" is all he has to spend with his friends, family and loved ones
we want the rest of the time he has to be filled with love and making memories with everyone, especially with his children. He has our 2 teenage boys that need all the time they can spend with him as well as 3 adult children we need to arrange travel for...
I believe in the power of prayer. So please lift Joe, his children, and his family up in prayer, and if you are in a position to help, we genuinely appreciate your support.
