Joe Pitrone DBS fund
Joe Pitrone is an associate at Lowes, where he has been for 15 years. He’s usually to the far left of the center checkout section. Joe is always a light of positivity and beacons for all to see.
Before and Throughout the pandemic I would often go to Lowes to get household items, many times not happy because it was to fix something that had broken. Whenever I have had the pleasure of being helped by Joe, I would leave a happier person. Influenced by Joes ongoing and seemingly endless joy for life.
In today’s day and age it is somewhat of an anomaly to find someone who is seemingly unphased by the negativities of the world around them. Someone who’s nature is to bring up those around them. Joe is that person.
More rare is that Joe does this while battling Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness, pain and difficulty with walking and balance. It is a disease that usually gets worse over time. (It’s what Michael J. Fox has). I often times have thought to myself how crazy it is that Joe would show up to work every day while other able bodied people were voluntarily taking lay offs and choosing not to work!
In the coming months Joe will be having DBS. DBS stands for Deep Brain Stimulation. DBS involves inserting an insulated wire through an opening created by drilling into the skull. This wire is then connected to a internal pulse generator which is implanted in the upper chest. The procedure is utilized when medications are no longer effective for patients maintaining good quality of life.
This procedure will give Joe the ability to enjoy life in a way he hasn’t been able to in years. A life that many of us take for granted on a daily basis. One in which many are blessed to have, without one tenth the positivity that Joe has towards life and his fellow mankind.
This go fund me is to help Joe with expenses incurred with and from the surgery, income lost during the surgery, and to help him and his wife of almost 25yrs, Nancy, get back on their feet during and after recovery.
Anything will help! $10, $25, heck $5000. Just the generosity of your heart to help a wonderful person who in in need. I just ask to find it in your heart to give something and to share this.
Thank you.
