Joe Nixon’s medical expenses

My brother Joseph III turned 22 less than 2 weeks ago. We were shocked after an ER visit for a simple complaint of shortness of breath quickly and unexpectedly unfolded into an emergent trip to MD Anderson cancer center with blood work concerning for Leukemia. On thanksgiving morning his bone marrow biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He is currently being treated with chemotherapy and will likely need 8 months of treatment. This means 8 months of frequent trips to the medical center for more chemo, Dr appointments, blood draws, and blood transfusions. 8 months that he will not be able to work at his new job as a detention officer. And 8 months that he will have to delay his future plans of enrolling in the police academy. My brother is a strong healthy guy and great person. I can’t imagine having to go through all of this at such a young age. But we know he is strong and he will kick cancer’s butt We love him very much and are joining together to lift him up and prayer and help in anyway. Please join us in this fight

Joe will need frequent blood transfusions over the course of this year please donate to your nearest MD Anderson blood donation center. Blood banks are in critically low supply due to Covid. Please make an appointment and request to directly donate to Joseph Nixon 2629187. Any blood type is eligible. The only requirement is that it must be a MD Anderson facility.
