Gone too soon. Joe McGee, 53, fought so hard but lost his battle with cancer on February 14th at home surrounded by his family. He was laid to rest in New Jersey on February 21st.
We will always remember Joe as a good guy that everybody loved. He was selfless and willing to help his family and friends with whatever was needed, never asking what was in it for him. He was the center of his friends’ circle and always had a funny saying and was just fun to be with. Joe grew up in Bad Axe, Michigan on his family's small farm. He played football and was a pole vaulter on the track team in high school. Joe went to Saginaw Valley State University. Over the years Joe worked for Murphy's Bakery and Braden Tire in Bad Axe. He then moved to N.J. to work for DC Sports and finished his career as a steamfitter working on some of the largest buildings in New York City.
Joe was such a great friend to so many of us as well as a loving husband to Terri and an amazing father to Cory. Cory just turned 16. Unfortunately, Joe will not be here for so many important things in Cory's life. He won’t be able to help him choose his first car, send him off to prom, soothe his first heartbreak, drop him off at college, or help him buy his first house.
This memorial fund will be used for Cory's Education Fund and future endeavors. This fund will help to give Cory a step ahead in life. Hopefully, Cory can stay out of college debt, use it toward a down payment on a house someday, or just buy something simple that a father normally does without a thought, like gifting him his first toolbox.
It has been hard for Joe's family as they were by his side during his 2 year battle with cancer. This memorial fund will be used to try and make Cory’s life a little easier in the future.
Please help honor Joe's life with a donation.
